Founded by 2 graduates from the MRes Exhibition Studies at CSM, Gianina Ivodie and Maribelle Bierens, 'where’s the frame?' is a fresh online gallery representing artists from London’s leading art schools.
"If you believe the stats, London is the place with the most thriving art schools in the world. So why is there no platform where you could get a sense of what is going on? What kind of new artistic practices are in the making? What kind of topics are these artists exploring? In what kind of media are they working? And what’s going on in their lives?"
When we were studying at CSM on the MRes Exhibition Studies course, we were frequently asked which young artists to watch and where to buy their work. But there was no such place we could recommend. No place where you could explore young artists' pursuits and buy art of our own generation.
From months of brainstorming while working on our MRes dissertation, both of us finally settled on where’s the frame? And we launched the platform on August 5, 2020. Both of us started the conversation out of the blue, as we never really planned to establish a company shortly after graduation.
That’s why we started where's the frame? A highly curated art platform dedicated to early-career artists where aspiring collectors and young artists can emerge themselves in the contemporaries of the contemporary art world.
Each week, we publish new content on our Instagram and website so you can keep up with the leading art schools. Our first collection of vanguard art will launch soon, so stay tuned!
