Course overview
In a world where consumerism increasingly dictates how society runs its course, quality becomes a differentiator factor in product or service acquisition and decision-making. More and more companies are recognising the importance of perceived quality and driving their attention to it.
Taught over 4 weeks, the Perceived Quality Online Short Course covers multiple aspects of perceived quality, structured by the sense that governs the perception of any product.
During the course, students gain an understanding of the practical aspects of perceived quality through a combination of practical examples and models.
Students will be expected to complete at least 2 hours of reading / studying outside of class to get the most out of the course.

This course is aimed at professionals involved in the creation and development of new products or services: engineers, designers, entrepreneurs, products managers.
It would also be an excellent fit for individuals who are new to product development or want to gain more knowledge of product perception or product assessment from a cognitive perspective (beginner/intermediate).

Madalina Marcu
Madalina Marcu is a Perceived Quality professional based in Surrey. She received her Computer Science in 2009 BA in from Polytechnical University, Bucharest and her MA in 2011 from INP Toulouse in partnership with UPB. Madalina began her career as a Graphic Designer at Renault before establishing the Perceived Quality team in 2010. She advanced to leading the PQ attribute for the Jaguar I-Pace in 2014 and ultimately, she serves as Head of Product Quality at McLaren, where she brought significant step changes in the quality execution of the ongoing vehicles, and establishing the cross-functional link between Design, Quality, and Engineering departments. With over 14 years in the automotive industry, she specializes in designing quality visions and strategies that enhance customer experience and satisfaction, brand reputation and value. Additional to her career, she is a STEM Ambassador, focusing on bringing awareness on Engineering and Science and inspiring new generation of students to pursuit a career in Engineering.
