
Digital Graphic Design for 16 to 18 Year Olds Short Course
Course description
This 5-day short course in digital graphic design combines hands-on exercises, technical demonstrations, brief lectures and engaging discussions to inspire creativity and help you bring unique ideas to life using professional digital design tools.
During the course, you’ll learn how to design a magazine while gaining practical experience with industry-standard software like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
You’ll learn to develop design skills and explore ways of creating impactful, thoughtful and unique work; as well as an understanding of how to use digital tools to turn your creative ideas into outcomes.
By the end of the week, you’ll have learned design skills and gained an understanding of graphic design software and how it can improve your projects. You’ll also produce examples of work to demonstrate your learnings and will have gained tools to start building a future portfolio.
Course outcomes
By the end of the course students should:
- Be able to use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Have learnt how to generate ideas into visual outcomes
- Have learnt how to develop ideas into concepts
- Be able to present design outcomes in a professional way
Who should attend?
This course is aimed at anyone aged 16 to 18 with an interest in art and design who wants to explore the exciting world of digital design using professional software.
The course is open to all levels, so whether you’re thinking about studying art and design or just want a fun and creative holiday experience, this course is for you.
