Art Criticism Short Course
Course description
Course overview
So you love art and want to share your ideas? Would you know how to translate your thoughts into a published article in a magazine, newspaper or on the web? In this introductory course you will learn ways of approaching and looking at art, how to put your appreciation into words, and how to market and promote your written work for publication.
The best writers are the best readers, and this course offers the opportunity to delve into seminal writers and thinkers past and present; to construct compelling and original short and long form criticism; to present your writing to the world beginning with in-class discussion and presentation with the careful and supportive guidance of a much-experienced tutor.
Students can expect to participate in London's world-renowned cultural scene, visiting large and small scale exhibitions while responding to writing tasks and prompts established in class-led workshops.
