Arts Management Short Course
Course description
Course overview
Arts Management will provide you with the fundamental skills to build your own career in the arts, through an overview of the various professions that make up the art world, and the processes involved with setting up an arts organisation, with an emphasis on the not-for-profit-sector and collaborative working.
Through presentations, exercises, case studies and feedback, you will consider and discuss different types of arts organisation models. Learn about funding stream possibilities. And understand what is involved with planning, organising and delivering a programme of arts events, exhibitions and workshops.
Between classes you will be asked to complete a short task, involving research. This will help you to evaluate and identify areas for personal development and get you started with the beginnings of a business or career strategy.
