Course description

Course overview

This two-day course aims to take students on an exciting and creative journey from fashion design concept through to final portfolio presentation sheet.

Through a combination of PowerPoints, practical workshops and tutorials, students gain an understanding of how designs are created in the world of fashion. The course provides inspiration for students to explore design content and create a concept and 'Croquis rough' (quick sketch) for their sketchbook.

Students experiment with silhouette and colour through collage as a way of identifying their design aesthetic. During the course, students learn how to create accurate workings for use in the making and planning process, through to the final portfolio presentation sheet.

The course is designed to inform and inspire students to be as creative as possible, offering an insight into how to communicate ideas effectively.

Who this course is for

This course is designed to make fashion design accessible to all. It would be an excellent fit for foundation students, design students, graduates, creatives and those looking to change careers. Students should have an interest in fashion design and a desire to learn.
