Course description

Course overview

This course begins by analysing graded size charts and understanding grading increments. You will then apply grading to basic pattern blocks on screen using the grading tools in the Gerber Accumark Pattern Design software. You will learn to create and apply Rule Tables as well as apply grading to pattern pieces during the digitizing process.

Please note: Bookings will be accepted up to 72 hours before the start of the course, as licenses for Gerber AccuMarkx, a 2D/3D digital patternmaking software, are set up for students in advance to use for the duration of the course.

Tutor

Megan Mcguire

Megan McGuire began her academic career at London College of Fashion in 2004. Whilst working in education she completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning for Art and Design and her MA in Digital Fashion. Megan has a substantial amount of digital fashion experience, both scholastic and industry based, particularly on packages used for pattern cutting, grading, lay planning and 3D digital sampling. Throughout her career she has worked for fast-paced high street suppliers as well as for large well-established brands in the middle market. She has currently been employed at ASOS.com as Senior Digital Pattern Technician since 2014. She continues to do ad hoc freelance, teaching, and consulting work, and has contributed to a recently published book on pattern cutting.
