Course description

Course overview

Taught through a combination of lectures and practical exercises, the Genderless Pattern Cutting Online Short Course offers a practical overview of how genderless garments are created.

The course considers the differences between the male and female body and explores how to approach them through flat pattern cutting to achieve a better fit.

During the course, students have the opportunity to create basic garment patterns that fit a genderless body and discuss their construction. Students are encouraged to produce and create their own flat patterns or draped garments for a genderless body.

The aim is to help students gain a better understanding of how a genderless garment fits different body types and learn how to adjust to create the requested design. Students will be expected to work a minimum of 8 hours outside of class to get the most out of the course.
