Sewing Skills for Beginners for 11 to 15 Year Olds Short Course

Course description

This beginner’s course for 11 to 15 year-olds introduces students to basic sewing techniques, focusing on building practical skills to put together various types of garments and small accessories.

Students gain an understanding of some of the different types of sewing machines used in the industry and what each is used for.

Practical exercises will cover core skills like how to lay out pattern pieces onto fabric, how to cut them out, and stitching on fabric to create different textures. Students will also work on putting together various seams and hems for garment making and other items.
