Explore the art of bookbinding in this one-day workshop at Chelsea College of Arts, designed for complete beginners who want to learn how to create beautiful, handcrafted books. By the end of the course, students will have mastered four different book structures: three styles of single-section booklets and the Japanese stab binding technique. These versatile bindings are ideal for presenting your artwork, creating sketchbooks or making personalised gifts.

Gen Edelmann

A designer, maker and educator, specialising in graphic design, editorial design and exploring creativity. Gen has been working in higher education since 2016 and currently teaches analogue and digital design skills on the Graphic Design programme at UAL colleges Camberwell and Chelsea. Gen’s approach to design is a blend of physical and digital making, utilising a combination of analogue and digital experimental techniques to develop ideas.
