Course description

Course overview

The Thinking Through Drawing Short Course is designed to take students on an inspiring journey of creativity and self-expression. The aim is to help students learn to use art to communicate and express their thoughts and ideas. Students explore a unique theme every week which will challenge them to use drawing as a powerful medium to convey their ideas and emotions. The course offers an opportunity to master techniques and experiment with a selection of dry media.

Sessions start with illustrated talks that introduce each theme, followed by hands-on drawing exercises designed to strengthen understanding and skill. Students will be encouraged to expand on their work and share their progress, and benefit from friendly, informative feedback sessions to refine their skills.

This course provides a great opportunity to discover your personal style and develop your unique artistic voice, engage with your surroundings and embrace the unexpected. Students will learn why artists love unpredictable results and find out how to incorporate them into their work.

This course is available in two formats: a 5-week evening course and a 2-day course.
