Course description

Course overview

Discover the creative potential of hand-made printmaking in this exciting short course. Designed to introduce you to a wide range of printmaking techniques including: colour surface mono printing, dry point, photo-based image transfer printing, paper cut stencil methods and other relief based, textural mark-making processes using CSM's state-of-the-art printmaking facilities and working atmosphere.

The first part of the course will focus on open experimental approaches to help you find your own way of working, identity, style and technique. In the final part, you'll receive personalised tuition and feedback from your tutor and discuss project ideas by implementing the printing presses.

This course provides strong portfolio content for IB, A-level, Foundation, or BA applications in Fine Art, Graphics, Illustration or Textiles.

  • Soft texture materials (e.g. corrugated cardboard, etc.)
  • Organic materials (e.g. dried pressed flowers, mosses, grasses)
  • Collage / montage materials (e.g. coloured papers)
  • Various soft textured fabrics

Seán Myers

Seán Myers works with Foundation, BA and MA students at Central Saint Martins. He is an artist and lecturer and also runs a silkscreen printing studio in North London.
