Course description
Course overview
Hand-made prints are very different to digital prints, as they are produced using physically indirect and reflective printmaking techniques. This is an extremely exciting process, which leads to original ways of putting ideas together for Art and Design.
This 25-hour course is a considered and more open experimental approach to the various printmaking techniques demonstrated by the tutor. You will work towards finding an identity, style and technique suited to your way of working and will be able to combine the techniques you have learned on various surfaces.
1-1 technical tuition and feedback will be given to students throughout the course, discussing mark making possibilities and how to implement them using the printing presses. The state of the art printmaking centre at CSM boasts fantastic facilities and working atmosphere.

Who this course is for
This course is suitable for anyone interested in experimental printmaking. All experience levels are welcome to take part in this course. Students should have a good level of spoken English.

Materials
Students should bring the following materials to the first session:
- Please bring to the course any previous work; found or personal photographic imagery, fresh colour and black & white laser photocopies, computer-based ink jet prints
You may also like to bring:
- Collage/montage materials e.g coloured papers or various textured fabrics
- Soft textured materials (tin foil, corrugated cardboard)
- Organic material (dried pressed flowers, mosses, grasses)
- Paintbrushes
- Pens
- Pencils

Seán Myers
Seán Myers works with Foundation, BA and MA students at Central Saint Martins. He is an artist and lecturer and also runs a silkscreen printing studio in North London.
