Course description

Course overview

This skills-based and demonstration-led course takes place in a state-of-the-art printmaking studio. Students will explore themes and compositional ideas using both colour and black and white printed collage methods.

Students will be supported and guided through various techniques, including the use of intaglio and relief print presses. The processes learned are then used to print onto different flat surfaces, including found source imagery, specialist printmaking papers, fabrics, latex and light coloured wood.

Who this course is for

This course develops thought processes, such as colour theory and composition, which can be applied to many art and design disciplines, including painting, drawing and photography. It is suitable for beginners and even professional illustrators, designers or artists who would like to add an experimental approach to their work. Students should have a good level of spoken English for this course.
