Course overview

This intense 2-day Digital Photography Intensive short course is suitable for those who have a basic understanding of photography, who wish to have greater creative control over their equipment and develop an awareness of the essential picture making skills applicable to the medium.

During the course there will be informal lectures and workshops that introduce both the creative and technical possibilities of your camera as you learn how to use the various settings and functions by responding to briefs, and these will be supplemented by slide lectures on historical and contemporary artwork which explore the aesthetics of photography.

Tutor

Chris Ould

Chris Ould is an artist and experienced tutor who has worked within the photography department at Central Saint Martins college for over 15 years. Since graduating from the MA Fine Art programme in 1999, he has continued to make his own work and has taught across a broad range of short courses, BA and Post-Graduate programmes, as well as public and private institutions. He has also worked as a freelance lecturer, delivering talks and workshops that address photo-editing skills within the digital print arena to several fashion retouching companies, and has been a reviewer on several books on photography.

Teri Pengilley

Since completing a postgraduate course in Photojournalism at the London College of Printing in June 2000, Teri Pengilley has worked as an editorial photographer both nationally and internationally. Her work includes five months covering Iraq after the 2003 invasion and documentary work in Sri Lanka and Indonesia following the devastating Indian Ocean tsunami. Based in London and working mostly for The Independent, The Guardian and Save the Children, Teri has had work exhibited in solo and group exhibitions. She's also been published in national and international publications including The Times, The New York Times, The Age and Vogue.
