Silkscreen and Hand Painting for Textiles Short Course
Course description
Course overview
This short course offers an introduction into silk screen printing, covering paper stencil and polychromatic screen printing techniques.
Polychromatic screen printing refers to the multiple use of colours, and is a technique used by working directly onto the silk screen using brushes, pipettes and soft mark-making tools to create and illustrate your designs. You will have the opportunity to experiment through the application of dyes and the printing process using this technique.
You will create your designs freehand painting directly onto the silk screen and develop your designs further by creating paper stencils that will be used to build surfaces and layers within your design.
Who this course is for
This course is designed for all creative types who would like an insight into an alternative technique to screen-printing, previous experience and knowledge of screen-printing would be useful but is not essential.
