The UAL Net Zero and Sustainability Skills Fund is a new initiative designed to help staff across the university develop the skills, confidence, and creative capacity needed to support UAL’s journey towards Net Zero. Launching as part of a wider refresh of our decarbonisation plan, the fund aims to make sustainability a shared learning experience, connecting every role, course, and campus.

This fund offers opportnities staff from any job family across the University to access professional development and training opportunities specific to their area of work. For academic staff, this might mean attending conferences that explore low-impact materials and methods in teaching. For technicians, this could look like collaborating with a specialist service provider or practioner to help reduce the impact of workshop practices. Professional services teams could use the fund to increase their knowledge of sustainable procurement processes, or behaviour change strategies. And for research staff, the fund can help provide training to integrate sustainability principles into project design, data management, or collaboration models.

This online briefing session will be held on Wed 26 November, gfrom 16:00 - 17:00 to introduce guidance for the UAL Net Zero & Sustainability Skills Fund. We will cover information around how to apply, some of the criteria for selection for the fund, and what support can be offered internally to support sustainability objectives across UAL.

We welcome all UAL staff interested to register here for the session. Even if you are unable to join, on the day, we encourage you still register. The session will be recorded and sent out to all registered attendees.
