Partnerships between UAL and other brands need careful thought. Both brands may want to be visually represented, but this can be confusing for stakeholders and audiences alike.

How our brand is used depends on our involvement in the partnership. So, it’s important for you to understand what your partnership involves as this impacts how our trade marks should be used.

In all partnership types:

  • Use our registered trade marks/logos using the specific guidance below.
  • Refer to our brand narrative and messaging pillars when writing about our brand.
Partnership logo guidance showing an example of the UAL primary logo partnered with the Arts Students' Union. Is the width of the L in the logo = y, the logos are spaced between each other by yx4. The same exclusion zone applies to partnership logos.

UAL is the lead partner if we are working with another brand, but UAL is providing a majority of the resources to offer a product or service and/or taking a larger share of the revenue/outcomes.

Where UAL is the lead brand, supported by another brand:

  • Follow the full UAL visual identity and verbal identity.
  • Place external partner logo(s) at the bottom, at less than 75% size of the UAL logo.
  • If UAL is working with more than 1 brand, all supporting logos should be equal size and in alphabetical order.

An equal partnership is when UAL and other brands pool resources together to offer a product or service where they share revenue and/or outcomes.

Where UAL and other brands are equal partners:

  • Use of the UAL identity is preferred. The partner identity system can also be used, but not a combination of both.
  • All logos should be equal in size.
  • The UAL logo should be in black or white.
  • If using the UAL identity, the logos should be separated by a 0.5pt dividing line, that is 100% black, 40% black or white.

UAL is the supporting partner if working with another brand which is providing a majority of the resources to offer a product or service and/or taking a larger share of the revenue/outcomes.

Where another brand is the lead, supported by UAL:

  • The UAL logo should follow the partner logo placement guidelines.
  • The UAL logo should be equal in proportion with all other logos, the minimum size of our logo is 12mm.
  • The UAL logo should be in black or white.
