Amy Etherington is a graphic designer and researcher.
Etherington has been teaching for over a decade, having worked at every level from primary to postgraduate, and has taught visual communication and graphic design since 2014. Her teaching focuses on helping students explore the connection between their work and what their work might be doing, the effect that it might have on the environment and communities around them.
Her making practice is rooted in play with materials, craft and typography. However, she is moving away from outcomes relying on traditional core design skills, exploring game engines as a method for creating moving image work and critically engaging with ideas of design practice as world building.
