Cathy Wills Sculpture Scholarship
Eligibility
To be eligible for The Cathy Wills Sculpture Scholarship students must be:
- Accepted on any of the full-time courses below starting in September 2025:
- MA Fine Art: Sculpture course at Camberwell College of Arts, UAL
- MA Fine Art course at Chelsea College of Arts, UAL
- MA Fine Art course at Central Saint Martins, UAL
About
Cathy Wills is an art historian, contemporary art collector, and curator who has been a supporter and advocate for artists for more than 40 years with a particular interest in patronising sculptors. Cathy is a Trustee for the Contemporary Art Society (CAS) she founded the Cathy Wills Sculpture Fund and initiated the CAS Collections Fund at Frieze. She is a Non-Executive Director of Pangaea Sculptors’ Centre since its foundation in 2013. Pangaea supports excellence in technical production through programs related to project management, and sculpture fabrication services.
The Cathy Wills Sculpture Scholarship, (formerly the Cecil Lewis Sculpture Scholarship), was created by Cathy in honour of her late father Cecil in 2007, a lifelong collector and patron of the visual arts. Applicants are selected by a panel composed of UAL Heads of Department, and a practising artist. Past external judges have included Richard Deacon, Haroon Mirza, Laura Ford, Richard Wilson, Jodie Carey, Richard Wentworth, Jeff Lowe, and Brian Griffiths. Since its launch the Scholarship has supported over 20 sculptors on MA courses.
Applications are welcomed from domestic and international students pursuing an MA Fine Art at Chelsea, MA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, or MA Sculpture at Camberwell who would not be able to pursue their studies without external support. Applicants should have a strong sculptural practice anchored in three-dimensional objects

Receiving payment
The scholarship will provide a contribution towards, tuition fees and possibly living expenses for home students and a contribution to tuition fees only for international students.
Tuition fees will be paid directly from the award into the University’s Tuition Fees account.
If applicable, living expenses payments will be paid in termly instalments to the home student for the duration of the course.
