The Peter Farley Award

The Peter Farley Award of £6,000 each is available for 2 Home students for maintenance and living expenses. Accepted on the BA (Hons) Theatre Design at Wimbledon College of Arts, UAL.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Peter Farley Award students must be:

  • Enrolled on the final year of the full-time BA (Hons) Theatre Design course at Wimbledon College of Arts, UAL starting in September 2024 and Graduating in June 2025
  • Applicants must have strong model-making, research and technical drawing skills

About

The Peter Farley Awards are generously supported by the estate of Peter Farley who was a theatre designer, exhibition curator, academic and teacher. Peter’s career embraced a wide range of different areas of design and performance. He was an immensely talented theatre designer, an international exhibition curator, a writer and researcher and an inspirational teacher.

The Peter Farley Award is awarded alongside the Peter Farley Internship, a year-long part-time internship with a professional theatre design studio Good Teeth.

The Award and Internship were established to provide support to graduating students from BA Theatre Design at Wimbledon College of Arts enabling the awarded student to transition into industry on graduation. The Award is intended to assist with the costs associated with gaining professional experience within the successful graduates’ field of creative practice during their first year after graduation.

Applications are welcome from those who are in financial hardship and those who will benefit from postgraduate studies to realise their full potential.

The Scholarship will be awarded in tandem with the Peter Farley Internship. It is within the rights of the recipient to accept the award and not take up the internship.

Receiving payment

The scholarship will provide a contribution of  £6,000 for 2 home students, towards maintenance and living costs.

Living expense payments will be paid in termly instalments via BACS to the award recipients.
