Cordwainers Archive Award

Eligibility

To be eligible for the  Cordwainers Archive Award, students must be currently enrolled on the final year of the BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear course at London College of Fashion (LCF).

About

This financial prize is awarded to a final year student on the BA Cordwainers Footwear Course in return for a piece of their collection to be acquired for prosperity for the LCF Archives.

The Cordwainers’ Company Archive currently has a varied collection of nearly 700 items of historical footwear ranging from the late 18th to late 20th centuries. Through purchase, gift and donation, this collection of contemporary footwear continues to grow and capture the innovative design, construction and manufacture processes of our most accomplished students and alumni. Based at our new Stratford Campus, the archive serves to support both teaching and research of footwear design and construction. All students on the footwear and accessories courses are inducted into the Archive and can use it by appointment.

The awards help to fund the students’ main final major project. The award recipient must demonstrate academic merit and show they have the commercial acumen required to succeed within the industry upon graduation.

Receiving payment

Payment to successful award recipients will be via BACS.
