Pay your fees using Flywire

You must make all direct tuition fee payments through the UAL Portal using Flywire, our payment processing partner.

How Flywire benefits you

Flywire is UAL’s trusted payment processing partner. By using Flywire you can:

Payment methods we do not accept

We cannot accept cash payments, banker’s drafts or cheques in a foreign currency (including traveller's cheques).

Using a virtual card will cost you more

Please don't use virtual cards pre-loaded with money to pay your tuition fees:

  • Flywire will add a 3% surcharge if you choose to use these cards.
  • You'll disclose your sensitive personal details to a third party that doesn’t work directly with UAL.

Keep your payments secure

Help us keep you protected:

  • Never share your payment details with a third party.
  • Avoid using public Wi-Fi when making payments.
  • Beware of phishing text messages and emails.
  • Look out for suspicious communications asking you to make payments.
  • Always check any payment request from UAL via your UAL Portal.

How to pay

During online registration for enrolment

In the online registration step of your enrolment we’ll ask you to pay your tuition fee.

Log in to your UAL Portal and then:

  • go to 'my Online registration' section and then 'Fee details'
  • select the 'Make a payment' button to pay using Flywire.

Deposits before enrolment

If you're an international student we'll ask you to pay a deposit towards your tuition fees when you accept your place.

The amount and due date for the deposit will be in your offer letter.

Log in to your UAL Portal and then:

  • go to 'my Application(s)'
  • select the 'Pay your deposit' button to pay using Flywire.

Pay your remaining fee during online registration

Wait until you're eligible to enrol before paying your full tuition fee (less any deposit you have paid).

Make your full payment during the online registration step of enrolment.

Payment plans

If you're a postgraduate student on a course more than 30 weeks long, you can pay your tuition fees by instalments. Read about how to pay in instalments.

If you're an undergraduate student you're expected to pay your fees in full at or by the start of the academic year.

When to pay

You must confirm your funding or pay your fees to complete online registration and enrol on your course.

Allow enough time.

  • Your payment must be processed by Flywire and received by UAL before your deadline.
  • Once you complete your payment with Flywire it can still take up to 7 business days for the funds to arrive at UAL.

Public holidays

Remember that public holidays in your local country or in the UK may mean that your payment takes longer to reach us. Check UK public holiday dates.

Making payments from 29 July to 14 August 2025

From 28 July to 14 August 2025, we're updating the UAL Portal for Scottish and then other UK exam results. We can still receive your Flywire payment.

  • If your Flywire payment is in progress but has not been delivered to UAL by 4pm (UK time) on 28 July:
    • we'll send you an email confirmation when we receive your Flywire payment into our account
    • the 'Fee details' section of your UAL Portal will be updated after 14 August.
  • Between 28 July and 14 August, you won’t be able to start a payment from the UAL Portal using Flywire.
    • During this time you must make any payment directly on Flywire's website.
    • Choose the 'University of the Arts London - Open' option.
    • We'll send you an email confirmation when we receive your payment into our UAL account.
    • The 'Fee details' section of your UAL Portal will be updated after 14 August.

After you've paid

Follow Flywire’s instructions on the steps you need to take to complete your payment.

  • Flywire will send email notifications to the person paying the fees (the payer). Use the ‘Track your Payment’ button to check your payment status at any time.
  • Allow 7 business days for your funds to arrive at UAL.
    • It can take 2-3 business days for your payment to reach Flywire.
    • Then 2-3 more business days for Flywire to process the transaction and deliver the funds to UAL.
  • Contact Flywire if you have questions about your payment.

When your payment status is 'guaranteed,' the money has been received by Flywire and will be delivered to UAL shortly.

When your payment is successfully 'delivered' to UAL:

  • we’ll email you to confirm receipt
  • in your UAL Portal, the ‘Fee details’ section of 'my Online registration' will also be updated.
