This one is for the creatives who teach
You know them. The teachers running between classrooms with cardboard models, sketchbooks, stage props or film gear. The ones who stay late to help with rehearsals or to finish installing an exhibition. The ones who encourage their students to experiment and find their own voice.
We see you, and this day is for you.
Teach Inspire Create is UAL Awarding Body’s annual conference for teachers delivering creative subjects. It’s your space to reflect and get inspired. A day packed with ideas and connections designed to support and celebrate those shaping the next generation of creatives.
Creative education equips young people with skills that go beyond artistic merit. Through building critical thinking, problem-solving, resilience and innovation, these subjects allow students to improve their confidence and go the extra mile – whether they decide to go into creative careers or not.
We know that teaching creative subjects comes with its own unique set of challenges, but we also know the impact you have. There is a wider network of educators and artists that share your commitment to shaping a more forward-thinking future - and Teach Inspire Create conference is where the advocates for the arts gather as a reminder that we are not working in isolation.
Why should you attend?
Last year’s attendees told us what made the conference so valuable, and that it left them with a feeling that this day was for them.
Many spoke about the power of networking. This conference is designed so you’ll meet other professionals teaching the same courses and tackling the same challenges. It’s a chance to swap stories and feel part of a wider creative teaching community.
Others valued fresh ideas and “getting new perspectives from unusual sources” - like last year’s keynote speaker, Sophie Deen, who shared insights about using AI in the classroom, or taking part in workshops on sustainability.
The industry guests were clearly a hit, and we’re making sure that this year’s resonate just as well. Through speeches and discussions, we’re looking to provide our attendees with practical knowledge and reignite their creative energy.
Overall, this conference awards teachers the space and time to take a moment and reflect. “It was refreshing and relevant,” stated one attendee. “Sometimes we’re so busy dealing with the immediate ‘in tray’ that we forget to explore the bigger picture.”
This year’s Teach Inspire Create will build on everything that made last year memorable, with even more opportunities to learn and celebrate. Expect to see keynote speakers, workshops and opportunities to engage with the creative industries. What we can promise is a day packed with inspiration and practical insight, as well as a celebration of the impact creative educators have every day. Bookings will open in September, along with an announcement of this year’s speakers!
Join us on Friday 21 November at The Brewery in London and be part of the conversation shaping the future of creative teaching.
