School of Design
and Technology

The School of Design and Technology is a space for creative exploration working with traditional craft and new technologies to allow for meaningful change within fashion.

Through a focus on sustainability, social equity and inclusive practices, students are challenged to take risks, test ideas and imagine new concepts for the future of fashion in our more than human world.

In the School of Design and Technology, we support you to shape your fashion journey. It is a place to gain new knowledge and explore interests and passions that will help you to discover who you are and what you care about. It is through the experience of discovery that true growth happens and with it, the possibility to design the future of fashion. Students often form lifelong connections here and it is wonderful to see the long legacy of alumni who return – showing the lasting impact London College of Fashion has had on them.

Design and Technology

We make sure students are designing for the future of fashion and are prepared for the constantly evolving roles within the industry. With a mix of practical and theoretical skills, we support students throughout their learning journey and our students leave with the knowledge and skills to become agile designers and makers.

Through design projects, industry briefs and competitions, we are continually evolving the curriculum to reflect this fast pace. Our future focused approach goes beyond just learning new software – we are encouraging a full awareness of both physical and digital footprints.

Emerging tools like AI are reshaping how fashion is designed, produced and experienced. We explore how these technologies can be used creatively and responsibly, opening up new possibilities for innovation and sustainability.
