afterfashion is an exhibition and panel discussion at London College of Fashion, UAL, exploring global fashion waste and waste colonialism. Originating from BA (Hons) Critical Practice in Fashion Media, afterfashion challenges ‘Big Fashion’ and envisions a system free from waste and exploitation. Featuring The Or Foundation’s work in Ghana alongside University of the Arts London student projects, the exhibition critiques, interrogates, and reimagines fashion’s future as one that breaks from colonial structures and embraces sustainability, justice, and radical change.

Fashion for Survival reveals fashion’s potential as a tool to wield against social and environmental injustice, but equally as a means of protection and transformation. Inspired by the sartorial world-building of cult film and explored through the work of MA Fashion Design Technology (Womenswear) students, curated by MA Fashion Curation and Cultural Programming, Fashion for Survival invites you to explore four distinct yet unified ‘tools’ with which to equip yourself when dressing against the status quo: rebellion, escapism, eternal beauty, and control.
