Global Fashion Summit: Copenhagen Edition

Global Fashion Summit is presented by Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) – a non-profit organisation that fosters industry collaboration on sustainability in fashion to accelerate impact. Since its first edition in 2009, Global Fashion Summit has established itself as the nexus of agenda-setting discussions on the most critical environmental, social, and ethical issues facing the industry, people and our planet. Its ethos aligns with our Fashion Business School pillars - Purpose, People, Planet and Profit and under the guidance of Dr. Stine Hedegaard, MA Fashion Marketing and Sustainability students applied to be a part of the summit.

The 2024 Global Fashion Summit took place in May 2024 in Copenhagen and 10 MA Fashion Marketing and Sustainability students were selected after a rigorous selection process and attended as volunteers. They supported the operational team in bringing together the event and were the first to greet guests and industry speakers.

An opportunity to network and learn

Our students had access to the keynote events, break out panels and the innovation forum which boosted their sustainability knowledge, networking, and conducting observations. They also had the opportunity to make interview appointments with the industry present for the final dissertations. Such opportunities enables students to network, research and learn which enhances their soft skills and employability.

Alice Ferreri, an MA Fashion Marketing and Sustainability student had this to say about the experience:

“Participating in such a renowned event was an invaluable opportunity to obtain insights into the fashion industry. I gained hands-on experience in event execution, networking opportunities with professionals and exciting startups, and a deeper understanding of where leading companies stand in the collective effort to drive positive change.”
