Our International Preparation for Fashion (IPF) students kicked off the new academic year, by embracing the world of creativity and self-expression with their first getting to know each other project.
Our Lime Grove campus witnessed a burst of innovation as students embarked on a unique journey of designing experimental outfits, culminating in a spectacular Pop-Up catwalk show.
Working in small groups and guided by our fantastic tutors, the new cohort flexed their creative muscles, bringing to life incredible theatrical costume designs that beautifully reflected the diversity of our combined cultures.
The catwalk showcased not just clothes but stories. Traditional and contemporary cultural references adorned headpieces and garments, modelled with pride by our very own group members. The challenge was real! Our students were invited to use found materials only; with the Re-Use units proving particularly popular.
Time was of the essence, with the project kicking off on Tuesday and reaching its crescendo with the catwalk show on Thursday afternoon. The Lime Grove courtyard transformed into a runway, with the front row reserved for Lime Grove staff, IPF staff, LCF Deans, and the Head of College himself, Andrew Teverson.
Suzanne Rankin-Dia, our rockstar Senior Lecturer for IPF, beamed with pride, saying, "The students surpassed expectations not only in their creative creations but also in their teamwork and confidence on the catwalk."
Lime Grove, buzzing with activity, has proven itself as a potential pre-degree centre of excellence. The atmosphere throughout the week was nothing short of electric, with the excitement and passion of our new IPF students palpable in the air.
Let's keep the creative fire burning. Here's to a new academic year filled with even more artistry, collaboration, and new unforgettable moments!
