BA Fashion Design and Technology: Womenswear alumna, Lina Hamed, founded Analeena, a luxury handbag label. Stocked in Harrods and in stores in Monaco and Azerbaijan, the luxury brand is developing a global customer base. We had a chat with Lina about her work and how her time at LCF inspired her.
Hey! After the summer break, we're in the middle of production of samples for Paris fashion week which is at the end of the month. It's hectic!
I'm the creative director, I design everything from the metal components, colours, styles etc. I'm a perfectionist so I'm at the factory in Italy a few times a month overseeing sampling and production. I carry the bags myself, as well as my family, sisters, mother, sister in law and the children! For at least a month before launching each piece to make sure it's perfect and functional and if we feel anything needs adjusting we do it.
Timeless, elegant and bold.

I see beauty in everything around me and I imagine that into a design. Simple as that.
The first day showing our collection in 2008, which was the first day of Paris Fashion Week. This was when Harrods came and placed their order. I would also say today, because it's one thing getting into the most prestigious renowned department store, and another thing going strong and staying in it!
It's very interesting how luxury is becoming more and more appealing to all ages. Younger clients in their teens, as well as the older generation all appreciate more and more exotic skin pieces.

I studied Fashion Design and Technology. I loved learning pattern cutting and sewing. I always knew I wanted to work in fashion which I suppose did help. When I was 5 years old, I used to cut up my mother's beautiful dresses (and I'd get in big trouble) and I'd sew outfits for all of my dolls, so my mother started taking me to Joel and Son to choose my own fabrics!
Patience and perseverance.
