LCF Postgraduate Class of 2023 features work from our three world-leading design, communications and business schools to demonstrate how LCF students look beyond the traditional notions of fashion to imagine a new and exciting future. A bustling two-day exhibition and exclusive catwalk show will be hosted as part of the official London Fashion Week schedule for the second year running. Alongside LCF's involvement in London Fashion Week, students use their own areas of expertise and industry connections to contribute to the wider events taking place as part of London Fashion Week. Taskin Goec, an MA Fashion Design Technology (Womenswear) student is taking part in a mixed-reality collection with infamous fashion house, OnOff. We caught up with Taskin to find out more about the upcoming showcase...
I will be showing a mixed reality collection with OnOff as part of the official LFW schedule. This is UK's first ever real-time virtual fashion show, where digital and physical fashion come together. After the show, the looks can be purchased as NFTs.
I have worked with OnOff before, creating their digital presentation for the SS2023 showcase. I am excited to be collaborating with Mo-Sys and BNV because we pushed the boundaries of virtual fashion and I see this as a glimpse into the industry's future. I have been working in digital fashion for a few years now and I am more excited about the possibilities than ever before.
LFW supports progressive and experimental visions, which is what the industry needs right now. Our online and offline identities are already inseparable and this will soon reflect on fashion, with spaces for immaterial and mixed-reality clothes.
To critically examine existing practices, discussing ideas with tutors and students and to create a personal archive of endless inspiring thoughts and ideas that will enrich my future practice.
Uncompromised, relevant, exhilarating!
