MA Strategic Fashion Marketing (Online) is a challenging and invigorating course for strategic creatives aspiring to a successful career within the marketing sector. This new specialist online course has been developed with a global view on the fast-changing fashion industry, indulging students in active industry projects with academic rigour creating new skills in research, theoretical application and digital communications. Want to know what your day might look like on the course? We caught up with current student, Stephanie MacAulay.
I'm a 22-year-old graduate who studied International Business for my BA - shortly after university and struggling to find a graduate job I decided to start my own Influencer Management agency to better position myself in job interviews. I have always had such a huge interest in fashion from a young age and always knew that I would pivot within the Fashion Industry at some point within my life. I chose the MA Strategic Fashion (online) course because I really wanted to build a strong foundation within the Fashion Marketing Industry and wanted the qualifications to support my business and future career paths.
A project that I really enjoyed was a Hackathon with a consultancy agency that worked with Highstreet brands. I liked how it felt like almost a brain dump, and my peers and I were able to work together to create an amazing presentation. I liked this because it had originally come from just a concept to clear strategy, we had in place something that was able to be shared with brands that I've always loved such as River Island and ASOS.
The advice I would give to someone who is thinking of applying is to make the most of every opportunity that comes your way on this course.
My Mum inspires me because she is a boss queen!
Organisational skills! To be very transparent, this course is very intense, and in order to make the most out of the course you need to engage and be interactive. Therefore, being organised with your personal life and your studies is key!
My plan for the next few years is to scale my business. I had little faith in myself when starting and felt as though it was important for me to get a job out of university but starting my agency has grown my confidence! I would love to be working with luxury brands and being a consultant to advise them how to use Influencer Marketing. I am so passionate about it because it's such a new industry that honestly is changing the direction in marketing and PR.
Yes, so we've had a few guest lectures who are in Industry who have spoken about what they do and how it applies to what we've been learning. But also, as well like I said above the Hackathon was a big eye opener.
