I am Programme Director, Jewellery, Textiles and Materials. I have also recently been become a UAL Teaching Scholar.
Within industry, I have worked for international clients such as Kinnasand, Ikea, Sony, Toyota, Dulux and Urban Outfitters. My work has been featured in ‘View on Textiles’, Elle Decoration, Independent on Sunday, L’UOMO Vogue and others.
In 2001, I was appointed Professor for Textile Design at the University of the Arts in Hamburg, Germany, a role I held until 2008 when I joined Central Saint Martins.
My research is based around the socio-cultural context of textiles, particularly the connection between materials and society in order to develop sustainable socio-responsive textile solutions that empathise with city experiences. My main research areas of interest include: Socio-Responsive Textiles, Urban Fabric, Digital Ornament.
