3D Make

Hear more about the Model Making (Metal) workshop

3D Make is arranged with fabrication workshops on the ground floor and model making workshops on the first floor.

The fabrication workshops focus on making larger objects while the model making workshops focus on smaller objects. The metal fabrication workshop has space to construct large works and is equipped with Mig welders, a large plasma cutter, metal folders, plate roller, guillotine, chip forge and pipe benders. The fabrication wood and large CNC workshops can facilitate making medium to larger works and their installation. We have a range of fixed and mobile equipment which supports students in cutting, drilling, and assembling, plus many other specialist processes.

The model making workshops are for small scale model making. In these workshops student mainly work in wood and plastics, including vacuum forming and heating and shaping plastics, as well as smaller scale metal model making which is equipped to support students in a range of processes, including lathe operation, milling, polishing, sand blasting and welding.
