Biography

I am an Associate Lecturer on the MRes Art: Theory and Philosophy course at Central Saint Martins and on the BA Sound Arts course at London College of Communication. I hold a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Dundee (2013). Between 1995 and 2009 I worked in cinema as a sound editor across the film and TV industries in New York and London. I co-edited the book Nancy and Visual Culture, published by Edinburgh University Press in 2016. My forthcoming publications include an essay in the edited volume Nancynéma, published by UGA Éditions.

At CSM, I lead Year 1 postgraduate seminars in philosophy. This research-led teaching, under the overarching theme of ‘Philosophy for Future’, generates discussions around the environmental humanities, and concepts of future, community, apocalypse, intersectionality, and colonialism, using references to visual culture and literature. I advise Year 2 philosophy postgraduates on their dissertation writing, and I supervise Year 3 undergraduates working on their BA Sound Arts final projects at LCC.
