Biography

I am a writer on art and film with theoretical interests in philosophy and psychoanalysis. My research is interdisciplinary, incorporating Deleuzian-inspired approaches to film and philosophy and feminist re-workings of affect and embodiment. I am also interested in performative modes of writing.

I am a co-convenor of the Subjectivity & Feminisms research group at Chelsea College of Arts and co-curate our ongoing project, the Subjectivity & Feminisms Performance Dinners, which involve staff, students, and invited artists in a collective research context.

I write features and reviews for Art Monthly which keeps my writing style surfing above the weight of more academic tomes, though I enjoy doing both.

My monograph Art and Psychoanalysis was published in Nov 2012. I am currently co-editing another book: The MAKE Anthology: Reviewing the Past and Looking to the Future of Women’s Art Practice.
