I am an architect and urban designer working between practice and research, and between London and Sao Paulo (Brazil). My work experience varies from small scale projects such as renovations, office layouts and shops, to school buildings, residential projects, public realm projects, building conservation and infrastructure projects such as railway stations. I am interested in the concept of architecture as contextual and critical response and believe that every single project, regardless of its size and scope, its an opportunity for learning, questioning, collaborating and having a significant impact on peoples’ lives and the city.
Since 2015, I’ve been dedicating a lot of my time to teaching design and architecture, to community engagement projects, and to academic and design research. This has been a wonderful learning process and a great opportunity to reflect on my over 20 years of practice. But mainly, it has been an opportunity to make a contribution to the current debate about how design thinking can help to put our very broken-down world, so broken socially and environmentally, together again.
