Biography

I originally trained in Industrial Design (Engineering) and upon graduation joined Kirkbride Associates as a product designer. This was followed by KPR Industrial Design Consultants where my work focused on the design of capital goods. Notable clients included JCB, Rank Taylor Hobson, Compair Broomwade and Cecil Instruments.

In the late 1980s my teaching career commenced in parallel with design practice when I taught on the BA Product Design course at the University of Teesside, specialising in the supervision of final year degree projects and assessments.

Following the successful completion of an MA in 1996, my career shifted emphasis towards computer aided design and digital media. Some of the courses I have contributed to in this role include:

  • Coventry University (Transport Design)
  • University of Hertfordshire (Digital Media)
  • Cavendish College (Digital Media)
  • University of Luton (Product Design)

I am currently is a member of the technical studies team on the BA Product and Industrial Design course at Central Saint Martins, UAL and contributes to the BA Jewellery Design course at the same institution.
