Biography

My career spans over two decades, beginning in the charity sector before transitioning to higher education and entrepreneurship. I started with the Irish charity Fighting Blindness, organising international fundraising treks to destinations such as Everest Base Camp, Patagonia, and the Great Wall of China.

At University College London, I led strategic alumni relations initiatives, including an international alumni volunteer programme and a highly regarded careers networking series. My work involved engaging with alumni across Asia and the USA, organising reunions, and accompanying senior staff to global events.

In 2010, I combined my passion for design and entrepreneurship to found Crafty Fox Market, a platform dedicated to supporting UK designers and makers through markets and events. Now a cornerstone of London’s art and craft scene, Crafty Fox Market fosters creativity, community, and independent enterprise. The business has grown to include an online maker directory and collaborations with organisations such as eBay, the British Library, and Shambala Festival. Alongside hosting markets, Crafty Fox offers mentoring and educational opportunities to empower creatives.

I have represented the craft sector more widely, delivering talks at The V&A, the Crafts Council, the Fashion and Textile Museum and General Assembly. Most recently,  I partnered with the Mayor of London’s office to deliver a two-week education programme for makers.

In 2019, I completed a Master’s in Arts and Cultural Enterprise at Central Saint Martins. I now share my expertise as a lecturer, equipping the next generation of creative entrepreneurs with the skills and insights to succeed.
