Anthony Yung: ‘Asia Art Archive and Exhibitions in Mainland China 1979 to 1999’

We are delighted to announce the first event of the year for the ‘Exhibitions: Histories, Practices’ research group: a presentation by Anthony Yung, Senior Researcher for Asia Art Archive (Hong Kong).

Anthony will introduce AAA and specifically talk about the development of experimental art in mainland China in the 1990s from the perspective of exhibition making. He will present a history of two parallel strategies: one investigating new peripheral spaces and alternative methods, the other seeking legitimization through cooperating with the official institutions or the market.
