2nd International Symposium on AI in Fashion
London College of Fashion, UAL
24 June 2025

Welcome to the 2nd International Symposium on AI in Fashion

AI is moving from predictive assistance to agentic systems that can plan, create, and act with limited human input—transforming every link in fashion’s value chain. Our symposium brings together pioneers from industry and academia to share real-world use cases, rigorous research, and ethical insights, so the creative sector can harness this new wave of autonomy responsibly. Whether you design collections, optimise supply chains, advise brands, or study emerging tech, this event offers a one-day immersion in the opportunities, challenges, and strategies that will define fashion’s AI-powered future.

Hosted by LCF’s FAIREE research hub, this one-day symposium gathers 400+ creatives, technologists, academics and business leaders to explore how Agentic AI is reshaping design, retail and circular fashion. Expect 14 industry talks, 30 peer-reviewed papers across eight themed tracks, a business master class and live tech demos.

London College of Fashion

Founded in 1906, London College of Fashion, UAL has been nurturing creative talent for over a century. Its origins were the merging of three London trade schools for women; the Shoreditch Technical Institute, Barrett Street Trade School and Clapham Trade School, becoming London College of Fashion in 1974. Our ethos back then was to work closely with the fashion industry to teach current and relevant skills. This has remained a constant ever since.

Since 2023 LCF have moved to East Bank; a new powerhouse for innovation, creativity and learning on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. We offer courses in all things fashion, from business to design and fashion curation, with over 60 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and 165 short courses. With our return to East London -  the home of the ‘rag trade’ which started the UK fashion industry -  LCF has an eye to the future, rigorously identifying new ways of working and adapting its curriculum to meet the needs of an ever-changing creative landscape.

Fashion with Agentic AI - Opportunities, Challenges, Strategies and way Forward for Creative Industries.

In 2025, the fashion sector stands on the cusp of a transformative era shaped by the maturation of agentic artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced automation technologies. Recent reports highlight that AI-driven agents—capable of autonomous decision-making, rapid data processing, and seamless collaboration across digital platforms, will redefine creative workflows in design, manufacturing, marketing, media, and communication (Stanford AI Index,
2024).

These systems leverage different types of machine learning algorithms to optimise processes and enable personalised consumer experiences, thereby revolutionising traditional business models in the fashion ecosystem (McKinsey & Company, 2025).

The rise of agentic AI is fuelled by the convergence of big data analytics, robotics, and cloud computing infrastructures and the popularity of neural networks, transformers and variational auto-encoders making their way through use cases in the Fashion and Creative industries. This convergence lowers barriers for emerging brands and startups, granting them access to robust automation solutions formerly exclusive to industry giants (Harvard Business Review, 2024).

Heightened consumer demand for customisation and ethical production underscores the need for agile supply chains that adapt to market fluctuations while minimising waste. Through AI driven predictive analytics, fashion companies are efficiently aligning design, manufacturing, and marketing with real-time consumer insights—resulting in reduced lead times, improved
sustainability, and broader creative possibilities (Kim & Rana, 2025).

By orchestrating agentic AI with emerging media and communication channels, industry players can craft immersive marketing campaigns and interactive consumer engagements that go beyond traditional advertising. These cross-disciplinary innovations promise a collaborative synergy where human creativity is amplified by intelligent systems, igniting fresh opportunities for growth and experimentation within creative sectors (World Economic Forum, 2025).

The AI in Fashion Symposium: Fashion with Agentic AI – Opportunities, Challenges, Strategies and Way Forward for Creative Industries will convene domain experts, innovators, and researchers to investigate how AI agents can propel the industry toward more efficient, ethical, and visionary practices. Through presentations, workshops, and networking sessions, participants will delve into real-world applications and policy implications, positioning 2025 as the pivotal year that heralds a new chapter of agentic AI and automation in
fashion and beyond.

Fashion Artificial Intelligence Enterprise and Education Hub (FAIREE), a specialised research hub at London College of Fashion, proudly presents this symposium to the public— fostering discourse, collaboration, and networking around these transformative technologies.

By uniting diverse voices from industry, academia, and policy, FAIREE aims to harness the full potential of agentic AI and automation for a more sustainable, ethical, progressive and inclusive future in fashion and the wider creative industries.
