Resources for students

Technical services

Specialist technical teams play a key role throughout your time here. They will be teaching essential parts of your course curriculum and providing guidance in a range of processes from traditional craft to innovative digital practice. Technical teams also manage the various specialist resources and stores across LCF.

Virtual learning

At LCF, on-campus activity is enhanced through E-learning, which supports flexible and independent learning. The ‘Virtual Learning Environment’ (VLE) allows you to participate in a wide range of projects and collaborate with fellow students, staff and industry. Moodle is the VLE at UAL. This will be the main ‘home’ for your course online and you should ensure to check it regularly.

LCF Learning and Technical Support

Learning Technology offers an extensive array of services designed to assist you throughout your academic journey. While our primary mode of support is in-person consultation, we also offer a comprehensive selection of online guides, supplemented by a dedicated support staff available online.

Learning Technology offer guidance and advice on software and online digital learning tools, one-on-one support sessions, Adobe Accredited Training, Pattern Plotting service, and key software support including AI-based tools, 3D Design and Modelling.

The LCF Technical Resources portal is available to staff and students to learn more about the services and departments. You can also search for a specific subject and find guides and lessons on equipment and processes, as well as contact details for associated specialist technical staff.
