We had a chat with Tamsin Balcanquall after she took our Costume Design course during Summer School 2018.

What is your occupation?

Costume assistant


What course did you study on and why did you choose it?

Costume making... Because I want to transition to making costumes and the course leader was a very good lecturer

The amount and quality of information was unmatched

What would you say to someone who is thinking about taking a short course at Central Saint Martins?

Make sure you choose well. But absolutely do it!


What do you believe is integral to the work of an artist, in any discipline?

Commitment to your craft. If you are doing it for work it takes a lot of commitment because it's not always easy

What 3 words best describe your short course experience at CSM?

Fun, informative, social
