Paul is Director of Change Management at London College of Communication. Since joining UAL in 2015, he has led the college’s activities towards our new building opening (planned for September 2027).
Our Transition Team lead on design team liaison; operational change; staff space planning; new furniture, displays and equipment; and the decanting of all our legacy assets into the new building.
Paul is also Director for our Technical Resources – supporting the Head of Technical Resources and the Management Team in providing the best possible student experience and support to the curriculum whilst running our college wide technical equipment, and our technical spaces for helping students develop their creative practice.
As part of his role, Paul also supports wider change activity across the university. He helped develop the University’s first Digital Teaching and Learning Digital Strategy; led the People Change in the transition to agile staff spaces for UAL’s Central Services; and delivers teaching/ coaching in Project Management and Lean to staff and students.
Paul’s background is in management consultancy. He spent 25 years working for major consultancies and Systems Integrators in Central and Local Government, Financial and Corporate Services and Universities. His main role was as Transformation Director for internet start-ups, Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions and Strategic Local Government Partnerships. He worked in Strategy, Project and Programme Management, Lean and Process Improvement and end to end IT projects (strategy to operation).
He has a BSc and PhD in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Bristol, an MBA from the Open University and an MA in Arts Education from UAL. He is passionate about lifelong learning is qualified in Lean, NLP, Project and Programme Management.
