Southwark Council: Shop Front

Responding to a need from local businesses for high-quality design services, with support from Southwark Council’s High Streets Fund, LCC created a service that connected local businesses to LCC’s talented design graduates.

LCC established Shop Front, a pop-up design studio, in the Elephant and Castle shopping centre where 5 LCC design graduates — Francisco Casaroti, Oliver Zandi and Lauren Vaughan from BA (Hons) Graphic and Media Design, Caley Dewhurst from Post Graduate Certificate for Visual Communication and Stanislava Stoilova from BA (Hons) Design for Graphic Communication, worked to support local businesses in their marketing and promotional efforts. It also provided design advice and guidance including a special workshop on how good design can benefit small business.

The 5 LCC graduates designed more than 60 visual assets for 25 local businesses which included new logos, branding, menus, window vinyls and display materials. All the traders were very happy with the project, and most of them found that the new designs helped them improve their business and reach new customers.
