The construction firm, Sir Robert McAlpine (SRM), reached out to London College of Communication (LCC) to create films that built awareness for health and safety of everyone working on their sites.
LCC shared the brief with MA Film students who responded with varied story pitches, out of which 3 were commissioned by SRM, each focussed on a unique health and safety priority. The selected students took charge of every aspect of their film including planning the production, script development, recruitment of actors and set design. The films were shot at LCC Studio and Sir Robert McAlpine’s Broadgate Framework site in central London.
Three films titled – Leave Luck in the Locker, Family Watching and Child’s Play – were delivered to SRM who immediately started showing them on their sites. The films were well-received throughout the company and inspired a range of merchandise to further promote their key health and safety messages.
