The Horniman Museum & Gardens approached London College of Communication (LCC) to develop animated films that highlighted pets’ relationships with humans, for their interactive exhibition on Cats and Dogs.
The opportunity was presented to second year BA (Hons) Animation students as an option for their major project. The students worked in groups to respond to the themes of the exhibition which included the scientific, social and cultural role of pets. The aim was to encourage visitors to understand their pets better by viewing the world through their eyes. The main audience were families which included a younger audience, and the students had to keep that in mind and ensure that the films were vibrant and engaging.
LCC students delivered 6 films: Stay with You, Petting, Kitten Days, Dogs with Jobs, Beatrix and Bonk and On Guard; which became a part of the immersive exhibition.
