Capture One wanted to showcase how its latest product Capture One Live on Mobile, which enabled sharing of images on the move, can expand the scope of live photography. They approached London College of Communication (LCC) to collaborate with its MA Commercial Photography students to develop a concept for an on-location shoot and experiment with the capabilities of Capture One Live on Mobile.
The students had two weeks to come up with ideas, at the end of which two teams were selected to work on the brief. Team one included Nici Eberl, Pooja Dua and Rudresh Arora, who arrived at the concept of capturing the intensity of live music. They collaborated with the punk band, Alien Chicks, and set out to capture different aspects of their live performance, including video documentation of the entire journey, behind-the-scenes shots of the band and beautiful captures of the live performance. The second team included Barbora Lundgren, Ville Niiranen, Goda Kraštinaitytė; who chose to depict the consequences of climate change. They selected the Dead Sea as the location for the shoot for its extra-terrestrial feel. The models wore silver suits to produce an alien-like appearance. The team collaborated with a London-based jewellery designer, Hollie Paxton, to shoot her “Rubbish Jewellery” collection featuring jewellery made with materials like silver, gold gum wrapping and torn plastic packaging. Capture One Live enabled Barbora and her team to seamlessly collaborate with Hollie who was in the UK and get her input on how she wanted her work to be represented.
Capture One and the teams’ collaborators were extremely satisfied with the photos and the collaboration opened up prospects of future partnerships with Capture One. Benjimen Green, An Liu and Goda Kraštinaitytė were awarded Raw Talent Award by Capture One during LCC’s Postgraduate Show.
