Early in 2023, premium soft drinks brand Belvoir Farm partnered with the Woodland Trust, the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity, to strengthen its commitment to nature conservation. Belvoir Farm approached the Business and Innovation team at London College of Communication (LCC) to collaborate with young and talented designers to create limited-edition bottle labels that would celebrate and raise awareness for the partnership.
The brief was introduced as a part of the Design School’s Professional Practices Unit which is undertaken by second-year students of all the courses of the Design School including degrees in Graphic Branding and Identity, Graphic and Media Design, Design Management, UX Design, Art Direction, Illustration and Visual Media and other disciplines. Around 180 students worked on the brief to produce 36 proposals and two teams were selected after the final presentations. They progressed to a two-week Bootcamp led by Sunita Yeomans, the Course Leader for BA (Hons) Graphic Branding and Identity at LCC. Following the Bootcamp, the Woodland Edition Limited Edition Series created by students, Moonjoo Kim, Seoyoon (Yuna) Choi, Shenghan Wang and Stella Werther, was selected. The winning team was invited to B&B London’s creative studio, to finalise their designs.
The Woodland Edition bottles were made available for purchase during September-October in all UK stores. The story was covered by many publications including Business Live and the Retail Times. It was also covered on Jumoké Fashola's Show on BBC Radio London where Moonjoo Kim and Stella Werther were interviewed along with Belvoir Farm’s founder, Peverel Manners.
