Unsplash, a proprietary stock photography service, reached out to London College of Communication (LCC) to collaborate with its diverse and talented students in expanding the possibilities of stock imagery, as part of its Unsplash+ Student Grant Program.
MA Commercial Photography students worked on the brief set by the Unsplash+ team, to challenge the norms of traditional stock photography and create vibrant collections that will be innovative and commercially viable. Unsplash worked with LCC course leader, Rachel Louise Brown, to provide creative direction and guide the students on the matters of intellectual property.
Casual by Elsa Santacruz Romero, Chromatic Illuminations by Simran Dhanu, Whimsical Medleys by Kajal Nemani and Colour Consumption by Ayushi Channawar were selected by Unsplash. The 4 students became the first-ever recipients of the Unsplash+ Student Grant Program. Their collections are available on Unsplash’s website. All of them were awarded £800 each and were accepted into the Unsplash+ Contributor Program.
