This 13-week Media and Communication course is focused on the social and cultural impact of digital media forms and will help you develop a critical understanding of new communication technologies.
This course will prepare you to successfully work with the media and creative communications industries.
You’ll develop the creative and critical skills needed to evaluate and make sense of media, and to create dynamic and effective communications across a range of sectors.
This course is ideal for you if you are thinking of heading into a career in media, communications or the cultural industries. It will also be useful for you if you are thinking about further studies in this area.

Students applying for this course are expected to have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.
An example of one of your written pieces of work is required for this course. You will be sent an email after submitting your application, asking you to submit this.
You will enrol on 3 mandatory units, 3 core course units and then may select elective units, to a total maximum of 16 credits. Delivered primarily at London College of Communication. Teaching locations are subject to change. Individual student timetables will be shared during the course induction week.

Our shared units allow for collaboration and community across Central Saint Martins, London College of Communication and London College of Fashion.
Leading our core module, Introduction to Media Communication, and elective Print and Online Journalism., Lynsey is a Senior Lecturer in Public Relations and Media and Communication at London College of Communication (LCC).
Claire will be delivering our Brand Storytelling course. Claire combines teaching at LCC with her role as Creative Head at Maker Studios, a global digital media brand and the original creator network. Since graduating with a degree in Creative Advertising from University College Falmouth she has worked for a range of clients at some of the world’s leading creative agencies. In her career so far, she’s won a D&AD, BTAA Gold, Cannes Lion and many more awards.
You’ll need some materials for your first session. This includes Laptop with Adobe Suite Software installed, smartphone, pencils, sketchbook, other drawing materials of choice.
Other mixed media materials can be purchased as needed, at a discounted price from the college shop or from external suppliers (please contact us if you need any further information).
UAL Study Abroad awards are available for the UAL Study Abroad Semester.
There are 3 full tuition awards available.
We are looking for students who will be able to create social media content and blogs of their time with us as a Study Abroad Student.
